The Greater Caddo Lake Area has many attractions for visitors. Tours in pontoon boats and flat bottom go-devil boats are available throughout the year. A paddle-wheel steamboat operates during the spring and summer months, offering the visitor a narrated tour of the lake.
On July 4th and New Year's Eve, a fireworks show is held in the middle of Big Cypress Bayou, near Johnson's Ranch Marina. Throughout the year, local businesses collect donations from residents of Uncertain and Karnack to fund the purchase of fireworks for these gala events. The Floating Christmas Parade is held every year on the third weekend of December. Local contestants decorate their boats around the theme of Christmas and travel a designated route along the bayous and banks of Caddo Lake.

The City of Uncertain, Texas is also home to the Uncertain Flea Market which opens every third weekend of the month. When you're tired of fishing or hunting, go to the flea Market where you can browse or just talk to the local people. Nearby is the city of Jefferson. If you've never been to Jefferson, it is worth the trip. Antique and specialty shops line the streets. Horse & Buggy tours treat the visitor to views of historical homes built during the era of steamboat travel. Most of the homes reveal the influence of New Orleans style architecture because of the steamboat travelers who came here during the 1800's, when Jefferson was a booming riverport town. Tours of the Big Cypress Bayou are available throughout the year. Jefferson also has many fine restuarants, offering everything from barbecue to New Orleans style food. Some even have nightly entertainment including bands from the four state area of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. For those who like the excitement of riverboat casinos, Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana are only 45 minutes from Crip's Camp. We can tell you how to get there. During the Christmas Holidays, Marshall, Texas is host to the annual Wonderland of Lights Tour. Visitors travel to Marshall from every part of the United States to see the "City of Lights". One of the spectacular sights is the old courthouse which is beautifully decorated with thousands of lights. If you're in the area during Christmas, don't miss the chance to go to Marshall. Each fall, the Fire Ant Festival is held on the town square. It's a fun festival with contests, games and street vendors everywhere.
