|CRIP'S CAMP originated in the early 1940's and is a third owner facility. Our goal is to help folk's like you love, enjoy and respect our beloved Caddo Lake. The South's largest natural lake, Caddo Lake is widely believed to have been formed by the New Madrid Earthquake in 1811-1812. Beautiful, mysterious and all natural, it is one of God's great wonders.
Although a complete history of the lake has not been written, it's mysterious history exists only in the memories and minds of people whose grandparents knew and loved Caddo Lake.
Caddo Lake is a maze of marked and unmarked waterways, cuts, bayous, sloughs, ditches and canals meandering through the beauty of bald cypress trees draped in Spanish moss. The water's surface is abundant with colorful lily pads yielding yellow and white blooms.
While enjoying famous areas of Caddo Lake, many species of water fowl, birds, alligators and beaver may be found in Alligator Bayou, Whangdoodle Pass, Kane Hole, Clinton Lake, Turtle Shell, Mossy Brake, Eagle's Nest, Hog Wallow, Old Folk's Playground, Goose Prairie and Stumpy Slough, just to name a few areas of particular interest on our beautiful lake.
And don't forget that Caddo Lake has fish, fish, fish! Yes, there's Crappie, Black Bass, White Bass, Yellow Bass, Stripers, Bream and several species of Catfish, not to mention Gar, Drum, Frogs, Turtles, Eels and Snakes!
We invite and welcome you and yours to visit and stay with us at CRIP'S CAMP for a week, a month, forever! Caddo Lake is a life experience you cannot afford to miss. We cater to large groups. Call us for your next company outing or fishing tournament!
